Mentored by several jazz legends during his time in Baltimore and Boston, Steve Carrington makes his first appearance on our stage. Working closely with, among others, Cyrus Chestnut in both his African Reflections Band and Quartet, his sound is bright, upbeat and prolific.
Whether touring with his own quintet, Kool and the Gang or as a member of Dizzy Gillespie’s Legacy Band, Steve Carrington delights audiences. On tour in support of the new album ‘Far Above the Horizon’ the Quintet features Steve on Saxophones, Freddie Hendrix on Trumpet, Mark Whitfield on Guitar, John Lee on Bass and Jerome Jennings on Drums.
From a November 18th, 2022 performance, it’s the Steve Carrington Quintet – Live at the Bop Stop.
